Matteo Giannone

I am Matteo Giannone, a computer engineer, digital entrepreneur and technology professional.

For around twenty years I have been building and managing digital projects, with responsibilities that today range from technology and coordination to relationships with partners and operators.

I started out working directly on development, SEO and content. As the projects grew, my role expanded: I now coordinate the technology side, still work directly on selected technical areas, and maintain active relationships with partners, operators and the media.

I am also the founder of Mondo Servizi Web, through which I have worked with companies and professionals on web development and technology consulting over the years.

Technology, infrastructure and delivery

I still work directly on infrastructure and systems, although an increasing part of my role involves coordinating the technical side and the people working on the projects.

Project management became a natural consequence of that evolution. I continue to develop my skills in this area, with PMP certification as my next objective.

Security, privacy and AI

Cybersecurity has been an area of interest for many years, largely as a result of working directly with infrastructure and digital platforms.

More recently I have been focusing in particular on the security issues introduced by AI and agents, a topic I explore in greater detail on the dedicated page.

Casino2k

I am co-founder and CTO of Casino2k, a project that represents an important part of my professional experience.

When it started, I was involved in almost everything: development, SEO, content and product. Today my role is broader: I coordinate technology, continue to work on technical SEO and maintain direct relationships with partners, operators and the media.

Working on the same project for almost twenty years has allowed me to follow its technical, editorial and commercial evolution first-hand, as well as the development of its relationships within the industry.

SEO and Digital Strategy

SEO was central to my work for many years and remains a discipline I enjoy working with, particularly on the technical side. I am still interested in crawling, architecture, rendering, indexing and experimentation.

It is no longer the centre of my role, but I continue to work on it and run tests, including in relation to AI-based search systems.

Artificial intelligence and automation

I use AI mainly for automation, software development and information analysis. I have also studied these topics through an AI Project Manager programme at Cefriel.

I am interested in understanding where automation genuinely saves work and where human review is still the better option.

Project management and technical coordination

In technical coordination, I often act as the link between development, infrastructure, product and business.

Trail running, volunteering and digital transformation

Outside my professional work, an important part of my time is dedicated to trail running and 100×100 Anima Trail, an amateur sports association where I serve as vice president.

Within the association I am involved in organisational management and in preparing activities and races.

Over the past few years I have also worked on digitising several internal processes, mainly to reduce repetitive work for volunteers.

The time and energy invested are rewarded above all by the satisfaction of members and athletes taking part in the association’s activities and races.

How I work

I like to stay close enough to the technical side to understand how systems actually work, even when my main responsibility is coordinating their evolution.

Whenever possible, I prefer solutions that are simple, verifiable and easy to maintain over systems that are more sophisticated than necessary.

At the same time, I do not see the work as purely technical. An important part of my role involves building relationships, working with partners and representing projects outside the day-to-day work on the product.
